van Vogt Biography in LIGHT
1/4
This early biography of van Vogt is not listed in the Galctic Central bibliography. LIGHT was a Canadian fanzine published by Leslie A. Croutch. According to "REFLECTIONS OF A. E. VAN VOGT", van Vogt titled his first published story "I Lived in the Street", which was changed by the publisher to "No One to Blame But Herself". In this biography publisher's title was "For the Sake of Decency". I don't know which is correct, but this was written 20 years before REFLECTIONS and only 10 years after the story was published, when van Vogt's memory was still fresh. Moreover Croutch wrote at the end of the biography, "This is correct in all details as the van Vogts have passed on it themselves"! |
